Dear experts:
I had applied for my PR visa through a lawyer and there was the address of lawyer as mailing address on IMM 0008 form.
Now due to some disputes, I have withdrawn my case from the lawyer and have also intimated to Canadian High Commission to change my mailing address and to cancel the authorization of my lawyer to handle my case.
Is there possiblity that the lawyer can do wrong with my case at CHC ?
Please guide me.

No, your lawyer cannot do anything to affect your case. Besides, lawyers (in Canada) are governed by strict rules of Professional Conduct and cannot do anything to jeopardise a client's case. This is one of the major differences between lawyers and consultants.
I'm sure you had a contract with the lawyer. That contract should have a TERMINATION clause.

I cannot comment on consultants. I have seen too many unscrupulous ones and am waiting [like all lawyers] to see them licensed. At present they are not regulated and many of them lie just to get clients to sign up. We have seen many especially in India ... even the BIG names that make extravagant claims.
Size obviously does not matter in this area.
