If a strike occurs, there will be a lot of temp. jobs available to fill in for the vacancies that have arisen. Most jobs will be security jobs or caretaker jobs. The same situation occured inearly 2002 when workers striked and a lot of indians got security jobs @ 8-18 $ an hour for 8-10 hrs. a day and it was mostly night duty security guard. Some people i spoke to in 2002 said that they just locked the doors (of office bldgs. and slept).
What you must do now is to register in all security firms that you know, on the day or before the strike. May be some agencies will also hire temp. workers during that time.
Any one with more info. can continue this thread for the benefit of CD members.

Side note : I had worked as a temp. security guard for ****Security co. in Mississauga during the pope's visit in june 2002. I was paid $8 an hour for 12 hrs. a day for 10 days only. All that i had to do was to stand under a tree for 12 hrs. a day in Exhibition place & Downsview Park and i was given free lunch . I also noted that even if i disappeared during the day (which i did not) they still would have paid me. There were just 3 or 4 supervisors in charge of 150 security guards. If any one needs the address of the security co. which had hired me , Please PM me or E-mail to me. Thanks
