One of my friends recommended me a mattress which had helped many people with back discomforts. So I ordered it and within a week or so my sleep, stress and back discomfort eased and felt much much better. I later found that this mattress has also been endorsed by World Federation of Chiropractors. If you need information call at 416-429-9950
Hi ,
Can anyone tell the term of this mattress recommended in the posts above - foam egg crate -- or what should we specify when we ask for this and also what specificatioins as per thickness and density are recommended .
On the other hand - I am getting a queen frame for $40/- , a headboard for $70/- from Walmart . The mattress and box spring from Bedroom Depot is costing around $500/- ......
I was surprised with the box spring concept. They dont use a wooden frame instead as we do in India ?? And then put the mattress directly on top of it.
As beds and mattresses is one time important expense can we have more valuable nformation on them shared here please . Leading towards ideal mattresses in different price ranges . Im sure everyone has the experience .

I have Tempurpadic. Fantastic. We just Love it. I haven't had that big Back Problem. My wife had little more than what I had. Tempurpadic has been good so far. Little More than 6 months. I still some time sleep on Floor.
Whatever Back Pain we got was because of Bad Mattress. I think the key is to avoid Bad Mattresses than to get Good Ones. For that, I would never ever go again to Coils. I wont suggest that either.
As someone earlier suggested - talk to Chiropractors/Physiotherapist.
Little Off Topic (Not entirely) ... Do some Window Shopping for Shower Heads too. There plenty different Kind available. Sounds Fancy but its Relaxing after Work and Gives you that Extra 'Kick' in Morning.

Chandresh is probaly your best source of info for this since I think he did a bit of research into it.
Personally, I just go into the store lie down on the matress and see if I feel comfortable. Thats it . Mostly sealy, coils. I'm not sure, but i think I did look into the coil count.
Then again back problems have never been a big issue with me and the closest I have come to that is the upper back muscle being stressed out due to a combination of whiplash(nodding off on train) and heavy upperback/neck weight lifting workouts. Theres a 20 $ pillow from costco(developed for space missions or something like that...according to their marketting pitch). I purchased one of those and it cured the wiplash problem in one night. I have switched all the pillows to that one now.

Thanks Maharaj & J3d ,
I think Tempurpadic was also created for space missions . May be theya re the same . I also recall Chandresh s one of foremost principles of not discounting on mattresses .
I wish some one could shed light on Vanishka s query wrt the cotton rui gadda thing . Vanishka please check out whether the indoor heating will work against such a gadda . I think some one has posted that on this thread itself.
