Is Guelph a good place to live. UOG is a good option for MSc / PhD. What about job prospects there. What type of jobs are available there?

Are you already landed in ottawa or still not sure where to land.
if your primary goal is not to be rich Ottawa will be nice city to live in .
Lot of CIDA contracts and other jobs will be there and you are likely to get some oppotrunity. If you have patience, then it is better city to live in .
We can give you some tips but if you have a nice friend, then things will be quite easy.
In any case you ae most welcome to Ottawa........

Thanks for your reply. Our primary aim is to lead a quality life and work in our field. Getting rich alone is not our aim.

We are landing on May 27 and will stay with a friend for a couple of days. They will help us in settling down. We would still appreciate any tips you have for us in getting into our field of work and settling down in Ottawa.

very nice city to live in .
Hope you are working on your resume and you kids started going to school.
There are lot and lot opportunities in Ottawa. But you have market yourself.
You have rich experience in your filed.

Hi Canadatrust,

Sorry for not replying earlier. It was a busy time finding apartment and then moving and settling down.

Ottawa is a nice clean and green city. We like it. It's a bit hot now. Jobs are there, but haven't found it. Wife has taken up a job, not in her field. I am focusing on my field so it might take time. I did try for call center technical support job and cleared the interview. Still to hear from them. Was just to get interview experience.

It depends entirely on your background and skills and what you want to do. Things are not that easy also if you are particular about getting into your own field. Fist 6 months to 1 year will be a big challange.
