By the way whosoever has written the article makes some very true
comments

They say truth hurts......:D

An Imposter never tells truth.

I think whoever wrote this is not the one circulating it...............But besides that you are telling me you do not agree with the points in there???.........You dont have to agree with all of them.

I think you guys are right. Even I could not find any concrete fact about this speech. I did find many links but no solid one. One site said that the speech was delivered at the first death anniversary of Mr. Ambani and the other said it was delivered in 2003, third one mentioned the date as August 2002. So.....I don't know what is the truth.
Actually, main bhavna ke bahaaw mein aisa beh gaya tha ki kuchh palon ke liye sab kuchh bhool sa gaya tha aur 'cut-paste' maar diya tha:D

but one thing is there that I DO 100% agree with many points mentioned in the mail

Well he has started circulating it first right? Yaa phir is message ke par aa gaye? Also, apart from some production numbers, I don’t see any truth, I see broad generalization out of frustration. Besides you can not base truth on a lie IMHO. You might have heard of naro va kunjaro va.

Let’s see it from different perspective. Let's say an average Canadian on street reads this post as message from Indian president. What kind of impression she/he is going to have of Indian president? IMHO, he is defacing what Dr. Kalam stands for (knowingly or unknowingly, who knows?).

The President of India DR. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam's Speech in Hyderabad .

Why is the media here so negative?
Why are we in India so embarrassed to recognize our own strengths, our achievements? We are such a great nation. We have so many amazing success
stories but we refuse to acknowledge them. Why?

that's simple to answer. When the majority of ppl. living in India have no right to express themselves while the minority has, naturally what positive things can the media show. If a muslim, sikh, christian does something good, it's flying around for a month, a Hindu does it it's buried somewhere. It's the stupid law of the country which does not provide the Hindu's any rights. Which other country in this world provides more holidays for other religions than it's own. All the Eid's are off, Christmas, Buddha Jayanti, Mahavir Jayanti, Guru Nanak B'day while considering 60%+ population of India is purely Hindus who also pray to all these saints, gurus. Try asking in Canada to make Diwali/Eid a public holiday. The Christians will go crazy and turn the world over just because Christianity is the maj. population. Same thing in Mid. East countries and Pak, ask them to make Diwali/Christmas to be a public holiday??

Another question: Why are we, as a nation so obsessed with
foreign things? We want foreign T. Vs, we want foreign shirts. We want foreign technology.

Even here in Canada, ppl. want Japanese made cameras, TV's etc. It's a normal thing all across the world.

Got 10 minutes for your country? If yes, then read; otherwise, choice is yours.
YOU say that our government is inefficient.
YOU say that our laws are too old.
YOU say that the municipality does not pick up the garbage.
YOU say that the phones don't work, the railways are a joke,
The airline is the worst in the world, mails never reach their destination.
YOU say that our country has been fed to the dogs and is the absolute pits.

YOU say, say and say. What do YOU do about it?
Take a person on his way to Singapore . Give him a name - YOURS. Give him a face - YOURS. YOU walk out of the airport and you are at your International
best. In Singapore you don't throw cigarette butts on the roads or eat in the stores.
that my STD and ISD calls are billed to someone else.'YOU would not dare to speed beyond 55 mph (88 km/h) in Washington and then tell the traffic cop,
'Jaanta hai main kaun hoon (Do you know who I am?). I am so and so's son.

Who's to be blamed for this. The Govt. You don't pay the employees enough that they have to become corrupt and take bribes. If a police constable was paid only $10,000 a year, he would be doing the same thing. But they start at around 25K +. A constable is paid around 5000 Rs a month. What do you expect to buy from that thinking they have a wife and atleast 3 kids to support.

Quote:

Once in an interview, the famous Ex-municipal commissioner of Bombay, Mr. Tinaikar, had a point to make. 'Rich people's dogs are walked on the
streets to leave their affluent droppings all over the place,' he said. 'And then the same people turn around to criticize and blame the
authorities for inefficiency and dirty pavements. What do they expect the officers to do? Go down with a broom every time their dog feels the
pressure in his bowels?
In America every dog owner has to clean up after his pet has done the job. Same in Japan . Will the Indian citizen do that here?' He's right. We go to
the polls to choose a government and after that forfeit all responsibility. We sit back wanting to be pampered and expect the government to do
everything for us whilst our contribution is totally negative. We expect the government to clean up but we are not going to stop chucking garbage
all over the place nor are we going to stop to pick a up a stray piece of paper and throw it in the bin. We expect the railways to provide clean
bathrooms but we are not going to learn the proper use of bathrooms.

Thinking that more than 30% of ppl haven't ever used a bathroom (the only place they know about is the open fields) what do expect. I can't even step in a public bathroom in India and am sure a lot of you. U'll prefer to hold and go back home or go to a nice restaurant and go and do ur job there.
Quote:

We want Indian Airlines and Air India to provide the best of food and toiletries but we are not going to stop pilfering at the least opportunity.
This applies even to the staff who is known not to pass on the service to the public. When it comes to burning social issues like those related to
women, dowry, girl child! and others, we make loud drawing room protestations and continue to do the reverse at home.

U thk Indians moved out don't do these things. Pls. come to Vancouver BC and u'll be surprised or maybe he hasn't seen the documentaries lately about runaway grooms from Canada etc etc.
