SS,
Sorry for the error.
Maple Gurl -> Even monthly plans are there without contract. It is only when you get the cellphone from the plan operator for free or discounted price is there a contract.
for large volume of calls, monthly plan is better. I think with Fido there is Fido to Fido free on some plans. Check the website.

Look my sincere advice is before you buy ANY ELECTRONICS ITEMS...
do a google search with the item model # and
1. find and read the reviews. ratings etc
2. Go to a retailer if possible to check the model, look and also feel the product and judge yourself the suitability to you.
3. Then search for the same item online to see from who and where you can get the best deal for it and buy.

Here are some review sites for your phone . ratings are above average.

and
http://www.techtree.com/techtree/jsp/article.jsp?article_id=70853&cat_id=614&page=1

actually you will find more like this, but decide always on what your Conscience says

If you have done all these then fine go ahead with it.

by the way I go like this " Suniye Sabki, kariye manki " good luck.

Keep in mind that the choice of fones offered by our service providers is pathetic. Check them out at http://www.rogers.com" rel="nofollow">LINK and http://www.fido.ca." rel="nofollow">LINK Also not all models are sold in the North American market. From what I've been told and experienced is that our fones are usually a few models older than the ones available in the Asian market.

I just did a quick search on ebay for Samsung x620 and all I found was one seller in UK selling for GBP 135.

As a side note a few months ago I was planning to get a Nokia fone from Thailand. I spoke with Nokia Canada to confirm if the fone will work here. The CSR tried to discourage me from doing so saying that warranty will not be valid etc. This is a marketing stunt, so that the latest fone from the Asian countries don't flood the North American markets. But unfortunately it is happening, and they just can't stop it.

Thanks Guys for ur valuable feedback.

I have done sm preliminary findings thru the websites and online reviews and found this to be a good phone having the features .

I plan 2 buy it from the Middle East/ India where I feel the prices r good .

I was wondering whether Samsung wud service this fone in Canada , and if this fone is available in Canada then at what price ?

The reason is - if I canget this in Canada I shall buy it there ....... but from what I gather it seems unlikely that they wud sell this model as it is quite a new one.

Manasvi.
