Hi GG,
I have life line which is branched at the end, not only that one of the branch is further branching at its end, do you know of any particular significance of this pattern?

I am not believer of any of such theory. I am trying to know is it relevant today.

I am do not have enough knowledge to tell this.

Why america does not have any such things?

America is a baby to have such Sciences. You need to be 5000 years old country ;)

Just a question . Why do all these sciences and things and superstitions come from India. Why are these not prevalent in Western countries. I mean why do americans not show their hand lines to see migration . In these countries everybody moves and migrates to new places so would all of them have same lines. Why do these people not keep "monday fasts" etc. Would they not go to heaven ...

Smiley, you are wrong.......each society believes in these things (and why do you say ONLY India, why not only Asia for that matter since Pakistanis, Bangladesis, SriLankans, Thai, Vietnamis, Chinese etc. all believe in this).

Even in the western world, they do believe in it.....you will find hundreds of tarrot card readers in your city...it is just a different ways of putting the same thing. Such things are even shown in the movies - infact even in James Bond movie!!!

And yes, as GG has rightly pointed out, America is too young to have developed that science. What we saw in the times of Ramayan is now being discovered in today's world (compare the shooting of one arrow turning into hundreds and killing many of enemy's soldiers to a nuclear fission which starts with one atom and creates millions of such kind to destroy...........or compare today's TV to Sanjay reading the war happenings in Mahabharat)

Deleted as it is irrelevant to the original topic.

Well Smiley, first of all you are right. Going to Srilanka, nepal is a videsh Yatra. In astrology it's not written as videsh yatra but infact a long journey where one leaves his native place and goes some where far away from that place. In ancient times, going far away from home was considered a bad thing in one's hororscope and today, people ask if he/she will go abroad and settle there.

Secondly, you should be proud of India since our ancestors knew centuries ago that there were 9 planets, that there are longitudes and latidues. At that time they could calculate the time of birth of a child, his geographic location on earth (longitude and latidute) and could make out a horoscope out of it. I feel it's a big achievement to calculate time, longitude and latidute at that time. Don't you agree?

And here I agree with Garvo Gujrathi. Hadn't our country been ruled by Britain, India would have been something different. We had the first university of world.

Thanx and regards
Tuli

P.S. When you ask a question, please send along your Date, Time and Place of Birth.

Those that do, do! However, most people here being from technical, scientific, professional backgrounds would hardly ever meet those individuals :-)

Indians, particularly modern Indians tend to be suspicious of and sceptical about stuff like astrology, palmistry, fasts, karma etc. Interestingly, though, they switch rather quickly into 'native' mode once things begin to go wrong with their lives, work and relationships!

I wonder why?

That's where our roots are (switching to "native" mode ) and it works/helps by changing our attitude(my perception) in handling the hard times.
