Dear CDs,
I am curious to know if it is worth to immigrate at 40+ age.
We have a lot of understanding from this forum about life in Canada, still in early middle age is it worth the risk of relocation?
We both (H/W) are working and settled (non-technical background).
Our daughter is in 8th std in DPS.
People say we should take a call and go for it, for the betterment of our child's future (in terms of education and better life overall).
I applied in 2003, and am a member of this forum for a long time, when it had only 6500 odd members.
So I have gone through a lot of posts, but nothing has caught my atention which is age specific.
Will remain obliged for your comments / views.
Thanks in anticipation.

I would say don't come ....your daughter is in DPS and I think thats a much better school than what we have here...

I really do not understand the correlation between immigration and a kid studying in DPS. So can we conclude that all those parents whose kids are studying in DPS may reconsider their decision to immigrate. Is it very difficlut to into DPS? Can you give me some advantages of DPS?
Secondly age is a factor only if it matters to an individual. At 40 one has to strat all over again. Not always but most of the time. If one has the resources, patience and the willingness to do it, why not immigrate? But one has to understand that it harder for a person at 40 than it is for an individual at 30.
So the decision should more on your objectives to immigrate.

You ar taking a big risk at this age. Instead send your kids after 12 th to Canada for university education.

Hi ashbamor
My views are similar to that of North Alberta's.
If you are well settled, it is not worth taking the risk as you have to start life all over again at 40.
Whatever be your objectives, they will become blurred when you find that your past experience and education... do not find ready takers.
You may have to spend atleast couple of years, depending on what field you belong to, to settle down in Canada.
Sending kids to canada after they have completed schooling in India for higher western education is a very good option.

IMO, ashbamor is mature enough to make the decision and we at the CD forum should not advice him what to do when it comes to relocating to canada. He has done the homework(?) and based on it has applied for immigration. We can only tell him abt the scenario (truth) in Canada based on their individual experience.
We moved when I was in upper 30s.
