I will be travelling to Europe and Asia soon
Can I use my Canadian cell phone in those countries.
What is this about GSM and UNLOCKED phones?
Can somebody please shed some light on this?

Any response is based on 2 parameters:
1. Your instrument - If it is a GSM phone with Triband / Quad Band reception, yes it can be used outside of Canada. Otherwise you need to check compatibility with respective places.
2. Your service provider - If you wish to use the 'global roaming' feature of your existing cell phone company, please consult thier website / call center for applicable charges and coverage in your desired location. If you are thinking of using local cell phone companies in respective locations, you need to use an unlocked GSM phone with above techincal compability.
