Hi,
I always thought about forming a desi society where we can have cultural center, temple, library etc.
This way we can help each other and enjoy life the way we enjoy back home.
Are there such desi societies?
Anybody ever thought about?

Desi society is another word for "Ghetto"
-----------------------------------------------------------------
You know you are a desi when ........ You spew forth the virtues of India, but don't want to live there...............You've never had a tanning salon membership
Loser I disagree with you about you calling it ghetto.
Many people prefer to live in area populated by their own people.
In US there are lots of people who live closeby and thats why there are areas like China town,Thai town,Little Russia,Little Italy.
This way they can preserve their culture and they can protect themselves better if they are together.
Amit talked about multicultural canada and I want to ask you guys a question about it.
How many of you have close canadian friend(Not of Indian origin) who visits you regulary and you visit them regularly?
You still need desis when it comes to your cultural programs, get togethers, picnics, etc.
