Hello folks,
I am applying for immigration in a month or so. I am little confused over the points calculation for my application, so I would appreciate some insight from you guys.
My first question is regarding Factor-3 Work experience points:
I have a 1 year work experience from India which is equivalent to [NOC: Code B #4163] in the National Occupation classification list. After coming to Canada on a study permit, I have worked as a teaching/research assistant [NOC: Code P #4122] for a little over 1500 hours since September 2003. Could someone please tell me how many points I will get on this section.
My second question is regarding Factor-6 Adaptability:
I have completed more than 2 years of full time post secondary education in Canada, but I haven't finished the degree yet, and it won't be finished before my PR application is submitted. So my question here is: will I still get points for adaptability or do I have to finish the degree program to earn those points.
Also please tell me how many part time hours are required to make it count as 1 year of work experience, as this could also help me in getting extra points in the adaptability section.
I would really appreciate your insights
Cheers
Manish.

2yrs of part time work is equivalent to 1yr of full time work
answer 1) u will get 15 pts for work in india for sure, but don't know if the visa officer considers ur part time work and gives u 2 more point.
2) yes definately u will get 5 pts in adaptibility, as u just need to have studied 2yrs in canada and obtaining degree or diploma is not necessary so.......

Thanks for the reply duncan, can you tell me what type of documents I will have to furnish to prove the work experience.
I can arrange the following:
-A Letter from the organization addressed to the Canadian consulate &
-Copy of my original appointment letter (duly attested)
I don't have the income tax returns to prove that I was getting paid for the job in India !

they both will be acceptable, and if ur salary comes in "income tax payee" then u should provide the tax returns. otherwise it will do.....
