What is the price? I am very specific about the price. But your idea seems to be a healthy diet one, exactly as i am seeking. I shall go to that shop today and find his rates

Charlie,
Thanks for the info.. I still use the Rajthani and it is too spicy and acidic on the stomach. I will try this Roti guy! $5 is not bad for 2 roti's but i will see the size of the Roti and see if i could do with 1 Roti for a meal. If i need 2 roti's a meal, then it will not be worth it.
Any other stuff, this store dispenses?

On a related note, I am reviving this thread.
The Doctor has advised me not to eat rice at night but has asked me to eat only roti or chapathi made of wheat.
Now i donot have time to prepare roti/ chapathi at home.
Is there any inexpensive place to buy Cheap roti/ Chapathi?
I live along Islington and lakeshore and work at Islington and steels and hence areas around this place would be appricated.
As far as i know, A sri lankan shop in Mississauga offers parota (freshly made) at $1 a piece. I am looking for something around 25 cents a piece. I donot want to eat the packed chapathi's but am looking for freshly made ones.
Are there any outlets, dispensing fresh home made chapathi's for low prices?
I hope posters replying to this thread would help other south Indians to shift their night food from Rice to Chapathi and inturn help reduce their bellies.
Thanks for all/any answers in advance.

Try Bhakta Foods at Islington/South of Steeles on the East side. I think it's just south of Millwick

Hi TK,
Glad to hear that you have switched from rice to chapathi for your dinner I had mentioned in one of my earlier posts that I have stopped eating rice completely for many years.
Don’t go for parathas or naans because the fat content in them is high and the same applies for chapatti that you get from an Asian store. It may contain trans/ and saturated fats and because the nutrition facts are not mentioned you may be slowly poisoning your self. Stay away from pork, lamb, and beef and instead use whey proteins blended in milk to meet your daily protein requirements. Have it twice once in the morning with cereals and then in the evening.
Instead of chapathi I use Dempsters Whole Grains bran bread. I know it doesn’t taste as good as chapathi but over a period of time you get used to it and start liking it. Initially you may dip the bread slice in yogurt (non fat ones) and have it with curry. Also keep track of your sodium intake because Indian food has salt in everything.
Thanks,
Nikhil
Does anyone know of where to get fresh homemade chapatis in and around Toronto/East York Area?
