Cycling, stair master, treadmill all are good.

I would suggest to start with any cardio activity and slowly build up your stamina so that you can jog/run for about 20 minutes without collapsing:). If you can do that already then just increase the duration. The main thing is not the type of exercise but the consistency. Its better to work out lesser duration more regularly vs increased duration less days.

Also you may want to add weight training to your regimen, you will notice the difference(in terms of strength and tone) in as little as a cpl of weeks. It may give you the encouragement to keep at it. Also increase in muscle encourages fat loss in many cases(muscle burns calories).

an excerpt from the below link
Increase the amount of muscle in your body. For every extra pound of muscle you put on, your body uses around 50 extra calories a day. In a recent study, researchers found that regular weight training boosts basal metabolic rate by about 15%. This is because muscle is ‘metabolically active’ and burns more calories than other body tissue even when you’re not moving.

Training with weights just 3 times a week for around 20 minutes is enough to build muscle. Not only will you be burning more calories, you’ll look better – whatever your weight.

I am against any supplements. I have bough Ab-lounger though have not fixed it. My doctor has told me to go very slow on Ab-lounger. He said we donot want back pains. Since last weekend we were busy with taxes we could not fix Ab-lounger. We will try to fix it this week and i will exercise as per my doctor's advice. See if it gives me any results.

This is not addressed to you specifically but many people buy these gizmos thinking they can reduce/target the fat in a certain area. I do not think(contrary to the infomercials) there is any machine/gizmo that can help take fat off only a certain area. This is **especially** true in the case of the abdominal area. Any ab-XXX device will prolly help one tone the ab and back muscles...however, one will still need to get rid of the layer of fat to be able to notice any difference. Hopefully the device WILL help one go down that path gradually, by getting one more interested in exercise. At the end of the day *any* exercise is better than none.

You are absolutely right. i was told the same by one of the best doctors in nutrition in St. Michael's hospital. However, I think I also have an issue of weak abdomen muscles. My face is so small after dieting that my friens tell me I might be overdoing it and look sick. However, my intention is to get my waist lower than 34 inches. It is not happening. So I am going to give Ab-lounger a try to see if it can help.
