Here is a format for verification/authentication of Driving Licence from India.
It should meet most requirements.

((ON OFFICIAL LETTERHEAD))

TO WHOMSOEVER IT MAY CONCERN

THIS IS TO CERTIFY that Mr. ABC son of Mr. DEF, (Date of Birth 1st January, 1960) holds a valid Driving Licence No. 112233 issued on 4th October, 1997 by this authority. He is licensed to drive throughout India vehicles of following description:

Scooter/ Motorcycle / Car only.

The said licence was renewed on 5.10.2002 and is valid up to 4th October, 2007.

As per records he has driving experience of over eight years, there are no adverse endorsements against him/his licence during this period and the licence has not been suspended.

can u please send me the driver's license authentication format as i dont wanna wait for 12months for my G2.... i will get it endorsed by licensing authority in delhi..i am in toronto rite now

For the guys who are unaware .. Atleast Consulate of India in Toronto REFUSED to issue any letters anymore ..

If you have someone in your hometown or the place where you got your licence, then it's a matter of days. For eg. RTO in Mumbai, has a standard format letter which simply states the same matter on their letterhead. Send your Indian driving licence to your family/ friend. They can approach any good car driving school. Standard rate is Rs 500. You get it the next day. The purpose is to check whether it is a clean driving record. The added experience reduces insurance. Hope that helps.
