Guys, please cool it.

Nightmare,

Your first post was stupid at best! At no place was Canadian immigration mentioned so only you know what the hell you were talking about!

It was an "inspiring story", read it as such.

Bluelobster as a moderator you have to be evenhanded. Desi Tiger also used language that was "not cool".

Thanks for the advice. Now go read the first and the second post and let me know how much sense the response to the original article makes! Its completely irrelevant and I repeat, stupid!! And then read the next couple of posts.

A story that was meant for inspiration has now been turned into a thread with nothing more than ridiculous arguments! And no points for guessing who's responsible for that. Hint: Its not DT!

And FYI - I've already asked DT to edit his post.

You mind pointing out the language that "was not cool"?

It was probably the 'ass' word in your comment. You should have used a Dupatta to cover it. We are a puritanical bunch. Since I wrote that word I'll now go and wash my keyboard :p.

I hope Nigthmare is going to editing his post too for using that word.

Maybe all of us can agree that we are talking about donkeys, which judging by someones reaction to an otherwise inspirational story, we are.

On a happy note, I just received a mail from a family I stayed with when I first came to Canada. The couple went through a lot of hardships and sacrifices after moving to Canada approx 14 yrs ago. I met the cpl 10 yrs ago when they were still adjusting to their lives in Canada, especially their downgraded professional status.

The then 17 yr old son of the couple can add the DR. prefix to his name as of yesterday. Makes me happy for the proud(like the mexican cpl in the OP) parents.

That, and likewise things when immigrants or the second generation make it- make me happy, in no small way. I can just imagine how the boy's parents must feel- all the hardships they went through must now be a thing of the past, everything justified and well worth it- with this one thing happening.
