Wow, Maple_asian.

i have been thinking about this for quitre a while now....

why are citizens of a secular country asked for their religion on any form whatsoever ???
why do their passports even need to mention their religion ???

i am sincerely looking for answers to these questions, and any help will be appreciated.

Mails4Sagar,
Your religion is asked in a secular country to identify minorities and to give them facilities where applicable.
The same reason why Canada asks you if you are a visible minority for some jobs and that you need to be a catholic to be admitted to a catholic school which is run by tax payers money.
Maple Asian,
My opinion is not changed. Lower caste people need reservations and also their education should be free. What happened when the upper class held all the prime posts and the lower caste people were pushed lower. Did all this happen in one generation? First uplift everyone and then make the rules. But this is just my opinion. I admit that there will be problems in reservations. India has 1 billion people and the whole country is not computerised. There will be problems but the intentions of the govt. are genuine. Did you think that Arjun singh was the one who made rules? No yarr! He has a set of IAS officers who work in his dept.. The IAS officers only make these proposals for the ministers. Most of the ministers are uneducated people or too busy to bother thinking up of such policies.

It also takes a look at the reality of Caste system in India.

Why makes it so "interesting", TK?

PS: Did you finally figure out "Amar, Akbar, Anthony"?

What made the article interesting was this sentence :
"

Quote:

And this has certainly invited the wrath of low-caste candidates who applied for these jobs as they allege that the Brahmins are incapable of working as sweepers.

Lower caste workers are angry that Brahmins were stealing their jobs.

1. What does a sweeper need to be? a herculus?
2. These lower caste people still did not know about the reservations in place for them to be educated well and lead a better life.

Sidenote : Akbar is yet to be enlisted. Till them Amar and Antony will take additional charges in lieu of Akbar

Two words. Fat chance!

While I agree that TK does help others via some of his posts, let me be brutally honest that he will not be a moderator on this site. Several other people do exactly the same thing.

And before you get any funny ideas, CD was "clicking" (rather rocking) before he signed up and will keep on "rolling" without him (as it would without me). No one person keeps it going, don't discredit the active/passive contribution of thousands of other members.

Like someone else said, save the melodrama and let's get on with it!

BL:

I dont know... think about it. :D
You have an 'unbiased' contributor who has confirmed the existance of a 'boo hoo ' club. Quite a feat for a CD discussion forum (sorta like office politics dont you think?)

lol
