In continuation to the news below, Ms.Jayalalitha attended the proceedings of the Tamil Nadu assembly and was only one person in the opposition and faced the total 170 of the ruling party on the other side. She single handedly faced the opposition and questioned the ruling party.
This is true guts for the lady, who was disrobed in the same assembly by the very same opposition a few years ago.
Incidentally the leader the DMK party and the current Chief Minister, did not the attend the very same assembly, while Ms.JJ was the Chief Minister. He used to go to the speakers office sign the attendance and then go home.
Hopefully there is a lesson here for our Canadian Sakhis and to the Belinda's & Hillarys !

Jayalalithaa to attend proceedings
CHENNAI: All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam general secretary Jayalalithaa on Friday said she would attend the Assembly from Saturday to highlight her party's position.
\"I am here... I am here to raise truth and the voice of the AIADMK,\" she told mediapersons at the party head office here. She was answering a question on the incidents in the Assembly.
Deploring the Speaker's action against AIADMK members, Ms Jayalalithaa said her colleagues had briefed her of the incidents. It was the members of the Dravida Munentra Kazhagam and the Congress who attacked AIADMK members she said, alleging that the incidents were pre-planned.
The AIADMK members were suspended out of the fear that they would bring out truth. Contending that the Governor's address was prepared on the basis of untruth, she said that it was feared that if they were given an opportunity to speak, they would expose the untruth.
Of the 61 members of the party, only 60 were suspended. \"The AIADMK's voice cannot be that easily stifled.\" \"On the first day, the Opposition members were not given opportunity to speak. It is a murder of democracy.\"
Asked about protection for participating in the Assembly, she replied that she would take part in the proceedings, whether she had protection or not.
Representation
Leader of the Opposition O. Paneerselvam said he had given a representation to Speaker R. Avudaiappan demanding an inquiry into the events.
He accused the ruling party members of using derogatory language against him when he tried to calm his colleagues down.

Speech by Thomas Friedman of The New York Times....
"When we were young kids growing up in America, we were told to eat our
vegetables at dinner and not leave them. Mothers said, 'think of the
starving children in India and finish the dinner.' And now I tell my
children: 'Finish your maths homework. Think of the children in India
who would make you starve, if you don't.'"
