Considering the cost of living to be less , how much should a CAD 60 K salary in Toronto equate to in Halifax - CAD 70 / CAD 80 k ??
I would appreciate if people could respond as I am looking into some job offers from Halifax -
my only concern - being considered as a retiring person's paradise - how difficult it would be to come back to the main stream jobs of the GTA / Vancouver ?
I moved to the Annapolis Valley,NS last year and have been loving every bit of it. The people, the location, job. People moving here without a job is questionable to find a job they want as the province suffers from a depressed economy. However, with the ship building contract, lots of jobs have been created and hence it disputable about its economic status. My suggestion to all Indians is that before they move out here, they must do a thorough research and must have a job in hand, otherwise it can be hard to live here. the standard of living is much lower as compared to Victoria, BC where I used to live for about 8 years.
I am Chief Pilot working at the Waterville Airport. We do sightseeing, Flight Instructing and Air Taxi. So anyone wants a quick drop off by air to halifax or New Brunswick or Montreal. We do unscheduled charter flights to domestic and international cities in and around Novascotia. A penny for my thoughts. I can be reached on 902 5385986. oh by the way, anyone know of any Indian community gatherings in Novascotia ?
Cheers to my fellow Indians.

I think now a lot of desi students like me (mostly one year post-graduates) will come over to Halifax because of the 3 months PNP rule and rule change in Saskatchewan, which was a destination before. Could anybody please enlighten us with the chance of getting jobs in IT field or call centers after coming to Halifax, and the PNP opportunities followed? In the website they tell the job should be 'preferebly' in the field of study. But heard that any NOC 0, A, B jobs would make us eligible for the PNP.
And could any seniors please tell us if there are good chances of getting part-time jobs easily beacuse we need to get money while searching for good jobs.
(Regretting that Ontario was a wrong choice of study No money No hope!)
