Bachchan has a passion for watches. His favourite brand is Longines, which costs around Rs 2 lakh. His other interest is collecting pens — he owns over a thousand. Mont Blanc gifts Bachchan a special pen on his birthday. He owns 11 cars — including a Lexus, two BMWs and three Mercedes Benzes, but his favourite is the Lexus.
Bachchan is very fond of suits — his favourite is Gabbana. The fabric is specially imported from Italy; the thread imported from France and the buttons from England. His other favourite brand is Fratelli Rosetti, which starts from Rs 35,000.

Speech by Thomas Friedman of The New York Times....
"When we were young kids growing up in America, we were told to eat our
vegetables at dinner and not leave them. Mothers said, 'think of the
starving children in India and finish the dinner.' And now I tell my
children: 'Finish your maths homework. Think of the children in India
who would make you starve, if you don't.'"
Sankaracharya,
But is he a good actor? Can he be compared to Rajinikanth?
The first film that i saw of him was Mard!. I slept after 30 mins. of the film since i was too tired. This was in 1986. Then my second and last film of him was "Kudah Gawa". My impression about this movie was bad. Can u tell me Amithab's best film, so that i can take a video cassette and watch.
And others, Please donot use this to bash me or Rajinikanth. i am just asking a genuine Q, to Sank. or anyone who can answer.
TK
Sidenote : Thanks Sankaracharya for the answer. I can understand. You have made the correct decision in not answering the question in totality or specifically. I have not watched any movies recently. Let me consider the topic as closed.

I am a Gents and not a Ladies.
TK,
Please excuse me for not answering your question directly. If I do, this thread will take off into 9 pages with in a few minutes. It'll turn into North-South, Indo-Canada, US-Canada discussion and will include Reservation, DMK, Amma and will become nasty.
Everybody have their favorites.
My take on this is that both Bachchan and Rajnikanth are Star and(I'm purposefully leaving this sentence incomplete)...............
As an actor I enjoy Paresh Rawal, Nana Patekar, Atul Kulkarni, Mohanlal, Pankaj Kapur and in tamil the new guy called Bharath(Have you seen the movie Pattiyal?) currently.

That was a quick retreat.
Well, if you dont know Amitabh Bachan theres no shame, and certainly no reason to "treat a thread closed" that fast.
Firstly let me welcome you to a world outside tamil Nadu, TK.
You can read up about him at-
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amitabh_Bachchan
While he doesnt twirl sunglasses, or pop cigarettes in his mouth as smooth as your Rajnikanth- hes done fairly well otherwise- a Padma Vibhusan, Padma Bhushan, Madam Tussads , National Award, 14 Filmfares, BBC superstar of the millenium, kaun banega crorepati- most watched TV serial.....
A few of his good movies are Sholay, Zanzeer, Deewar, Amar-Akbar- Anthony, Great Gambler, Toofan, Hum.... etc.
"Tumhara naam kya hai Basanti?"
"Tera kya hoga kalia................." may mean something to you too, one day

To me, with whatever I've seen of RajiniKanth in the few Hindi movies I've seen him in, he's nothing more than a comedian (like a Mehmood or a Keshto). Some of his funny antics make me laugh, I have no clue what makes him a superstar or even an actor. Nevermind the fact that he looks like any average Joe with a pot belly.
