I wanted to know which are the best areas near york uni to live with family. I am told there are some areas whcih are not good.I want to live near uni and want two bedroom apartment.

It will be great if someone can guide me in this regard.

Thanks

I work near York university. The residences of York university are pretty good and York Univ. is at the mid north corner of Toronto (near Vaughan).
York univ. residences is on Finch street Between Keele and Jane street. Avoid Jane and Finch- It is a very high risk area.
You can try private apts. near the area of Keele and Finch.
Or to be in a vibrant area i would suggest the intersection of Steels and Younge. The bus to York is a 20 min. journey (Bus no 60-York Univ.) and this area is located at a busy spot near all kinds of shopping. The rent for a 2 bed apt. varies from $920-$1000. Also you can try Bathurst street either at FInch or Steels intersection. You can cut 7 mins from your commute in this area.
Area near Downsview is also good. You have buses from here and it is a 20-30 min. ride. Downsview is a subway station.

Sidenote : Is the MBA program at the York univ. held at the main univ. campus or somewhere downtown. My above post was for the Main campus at Keele and Steels.
