To the MODS,

I think it would be a good idea to limit the number the posts a person can post in a day, this would ensure that the forum does not get bombarded with just a few members' point of views and it will also ensure that people post quality and useful posts.

There needs to be some set guidelines as to what is useful to post and what is not.

All one sees these days is a dialogue 5 page long with 4-5 posters engaged in pulling each other down or else backpatting each other.

I hope members would take my suggestion in the right spirit. This is only a suggestion based on my observations on what is going on on CD lately.

Point well taken. I am too concern regarding the number of useless posts being posted by only a few members. CD is not a place for such people or such discussions.

Let me discuss this with other mods.

Thanks.

One more thing. If you have recently noticed on longer threads, now on the top you can see the people participated in the thread. This has a purpose. People can avoide threads of unwanted people.

Yes i did notice that, and really appreciate that, coz with that one thing at the top, it gives one a very good idea about the whole thread and gives one better sense when to leave the discussion and not drag it on.

That was a very good step. I'm sure if all the members take things in the right perspective, Things will get back to being the way it was.:)

I noticed that most of time posts are Chat rather than putting any real worth noticing information.

Can you create some chat link on this Forum.

Id like to comment because I post quite regularly.

I find threads that record a person's birthday or # of posts they have achieved to not be useful at all.

On the other hand, I think beyond job, immigration and related posts, we have alot to learn from each other and dialogue is one way of communication that enables a person to learn mroe about the world around them. In other words, Canada is more than jobs, food, housing and Immigration issues.

I respect the moderators role and will agree to the rules. However please leave us some leeway :) I do not wish to have my # of posts limited. We are all adults and should be able to make that decision.

I think the limit is a good idea but might be a little constricting for individuals who really have some useful information they would like to relay to other members of CD, so I think alot of people will have a problem with that (I know I would)

Since the whole Canada/India bashing period, I feel that posts have indeed become less about bashing the other person's post just to make a point. There are some really good quality posts coming from some members.

I agree that topics can become digressed and I believe the mods have countered that problem by making sure the topic gets back on track, however digression is a normal occurance in conversation...especially for it to be a good one. :)
