Dear Sir,

I landed in Canada on Oct 2005 on PR and lived for about 15 days. I didnt work or received any income in Canada in 2005. Then after 15 days, I went back to India, got married, and have come back to Canada on June, 2006. Now I would like to sponsor my spouse who is in India. We have no children or dependents.

Now, one of the requirement is to provide OPTION C printout from CRA. The fact is that for 1st time tax filers, it takes about 16--20 weeks to get taxes assessed, and then get an OPTION C printout for 2005.

Frankly speaking, I don't want to undergo a long separation from my wife and wait that long before I start sponsoring my spouse.

So the question is: Do I need to include OPTION C printout with my application? Is it mandatory? Would current bank statement (showing about $4000 CAD) suffice instead of OPTION C? Please reply. Thank you in advance.

It's better to provide the required document. It's better to wait a bit than to have your application returned as incomplete.

Option-C print out is not mandatory for sponsoring a spouse. You can sponsor your spouse even if u r not working and there is no income requirement in your case. While sending the application form u can attach a cover letter explaining why u r not sending the Option-C printout or Call
