Six months ago I switched from Bell to Rogers. 3weeks back I moved from 416 to 905.
Since then Rogers has been unable to fix my home phone inspite of several promises. They seem to have some technical problem, I am thinking of moving back to Bell.
A lot of confusion in the previous mails . Switches do not move as they are static. You can retain the same no with Bell if you within the same exchange i.e NPA NXX. Further if Rogers have their service in the area where you are moving then you can definitely get to save the money but do check about all the details as you have to pay SAF( System Access Fee ) with Rogers. they may also charge account initiation charges and so on. Pls check and yes Bell will charge $ 60 or $70 whatever be the charge even if it is a move within the same building as the process involved is same.

Sorry I forgot to add that Rogers can provide you with the same no as Wireless Number Portability for land line already exists in Canada and full WNP is coming WEF Mar 27,2007.
