Uh, in a nut shell, it has to be proved to HRDC that your employeer made sufficient efforts to find a suitable employee who is a Canadian citizen but he could not find anyone for that position hence he is hiring a non national. I don't know the exact process, but employers need to show that they advertised the job in prominent local newspapers, they conducted interviews and only when they were absolutely convinced that they couldn't find someone did they hire you. Correct me if I'm wrong by the way.

That's right, and the whole process of approval is done by the employer, not the employee...

alright, it prolly takes roughly between 6-8 weeks for the entire HRDC approval process. So u might wanna start on that asap, u still have time. Also, instead of waiting for people to reply to this forum, why don't you set up a meeting with a lawyer? They will have a lot more plausible ways to get you out of this and back on track. there are things like restoration of status etc, which I am not very well aware of, but I am sure the lawyers will point you in the right direction, and its always a safer way to go about it.

you've been here long enough, why didnt you consider applying for Immigration yet?

Anyway, good luck.

The question you ask if a valid question. Sadly, I have no answer.
But yes, I do think lawyers are good... but I wanna look for one who doesn't want to leech me for money every damn time, you know?

There's so many out there who are good, but with no heart.
Thanks a lot for your help.

There is a good lawyer who you might wanna talk to. Their office is right above or below the Indian Consulate (toronto, davisville/yonge) .. goes by the name of P&P .. give them a shout and speak with the lady Devika. She will charge nominally(75 or 100$), but will certainly point you in the right direction

Just thought I should pass on the info.
