Hi,
Iam a Chartered Accountant from India, and currently working as Oracle Apps Functional Consultant. I wanted to pursue a local Accounting Qualification, and wondering whether to go for CGA or CPA.
Any guidance from the veterans shall be appreciated.
Cheers

Where are you located?
If in Canada, CGA is local qualification.
If in US, CPA is local qualification.

Advice is free – lessons I charge for!!
CGA is Canadian Designation and CPA is US.
The Q should have been whether to do CMA or CGA?
CPA is one step closer and fast track to CGA. Though lately it was made difficult by adding couple of more exams but still better than starting level 4 in CGA. I will advise check CGA website to get the latest information as some rules have changed lately.
CMA - You would be eligible to do accelerated program to Entrance exam. After qualifing then you enter into Strategic Program for 2 yrs
Thanks Chandresh and Desi # 1 for the feedback
I am based in Brampton, Canada. Just not sure which certification to pursue.
I will now check for both CGA and CMA websites. Just wondering, is CPA (from USA) recognised here in Canada, becoz I beleive it is much quicker than Canadian certifications.
Cheers
JUST START A QUALIFICATION. CPA IS FASTER BUT NOT RECOGNISED. YOU GET MORE CREDITS FOR CGA IF YOU ARE A CPA.
