Why are you guys always bitching about Canada?
Some of you could do a damn good job sitting in the opposition bench in Parliament.
Every country has its drawbacks but it seems that you guys are obsessing over the negatives.
Agreed that the medical system needs improvement and some of you have experienced racism, but I just want to ask one question to all those who have expressed their displeasure. If given a choice, would you go back to your home country tomorrow?
Putting such strong views in writing may not prove helpful to others. Everyone has the right to say whatever they want and exactly as they feel it, but it may demotivate some who have just begun their lives in Canada.
People should know the facts but when other people's biases influence them, it can turn an optimist into a pessimist. I think the forum is for people to communicate their experiences and knowledge. not to vent out their frustrations.
Just as at times half knowledge is worse than no knowledge, quoting a portion of the article without its jist is doing more harm than if nothing had been discussed.
I had thought of remaining out of this discussion - however I find that by quoting a portion of my article, Vishal has started a discussion which does not relate to what I wanted to convey in my article.
If any of you so called positive guys have the time - and patience to sit back and think - please read the article again. I have written clearly in it - yes Canada has all those negatives - and they are perhaps just to be discussed as various negatives of other countries - not to be complained about. Everyone should make a decision to take these negatives and compare with their own objectives of coming to Canada. If the negatives weigh more - one should go back, and if it is the other way, they should pursue their goals and fight it out. THAT'S ALL AND NOTHING ELSE.
The other purpose of the article was to make people aware about the realities - not to be blinded by the glitter of North America! - and then take a decision. As someone rightly remarked in the meeting on Saturday - life is too short to try everything on your own - if someone's else's experience can make you more knowledgeable to take a more informed decision, one should definitely do it.

Yes I definitely agree with you that we all Prospective immigrants need the \\\\\\\"true Picture\\\\\\\" of what would be the life like..and it will give us the much needed courage to fight odds, adapt new culture, life style and understand these difficulties in finaly settling down overselves there.
In my opinion, I strongly disagree with people who jump down to conclusion before analysing the facts ..and then they say, Well...We never expected / wanted it like this...simply because somebody has mislead them...about living / life style, cultural values and easy life abroad. Canadian desi is giving you the right exposure of facts which you can't even get over www.cic.gc.ca where in they say that they welcome you..and express as if they are waiting for you with \\\\\\\"open arms\\\\\\\" which I am sure most of the Desis have experienced and know... how CHC works, what are their temperaments, etc....about us.
Still, my conviction says, that we, Indians can perform the wonders and we can even live / pass through the most dificult and compromising phases of life..which some of our desis are going through and still come out to be winners.
What comes right to my mind is that Once we take a decision for migrating to Canada then we must think about it a thousand times, compare ourselevs with our existing and proposed lifestyle and then decide..rather regret later on. What I would really appreciate that these decisions have made my conviction even stronger that we can definitely take the challange and prove ourselves...like I have already mentioned in my earlier thread...
The basic objective of this site is to give you the right directions to succeed in life...
