Dear J3D ,

I have no intents of showing anyone his or her place trust me . I only wish that the forum continues to be a free place for people to place their views whatever that might be as long as it does not breach the codes of conduct of course .

I also do not like a lot of place on the forum being wasted by digressions from the topic and meaningless arguments that result in nothing .Please take this in a healthy spirits but have you observed how many of the threads that you enter into , follow the same path of quoting and 'I said this , you said that ' arguments . Kindly retrospect.

Everyone including me is welcome to follow anyone s view be it ours or TKs .Your recent posts seem to restrict this independence by instructing TK not to post what you consider as unwelcome..... who knows how many others may find it positive and welcome . How would you feel if someone feels your thoughts and views as unwelcome ??

No to hurt feelings or criticize anyone here. To support what I said earlier about the origin and spread of prejudice, I found something elsewhere which will help us go further: read

“A prejudice is normally developed in a similar way to a phobia, and learned during childhood. Most often it will be learned from the attitudes of parents or other adults.”

I acknowledge that you have directed the above post to Jake. However I agree with him, because I have been on this site for a long time .

There are times when its prudent to be quiet and just let something go. There are also times when its important to bring attention to something that appears to be biased or unjust.

I too want this site to continue to be a source of information, support, friendship, help and resources. One of those ways is by allowing discussion. If one poster has the right to express their view, then another poster has the equal right to comment.

Also, we have people with varied life experiences, ages, education levels etc. WE all stand to learn from each other. I gain so much more from discussions and information back and forth, I feel connected as well.

Everyone has biases and prejudices. No one is so perfect that they are not racist or some kind of "ist". Self awareness is the key to enable us to change ourselves. Being able to retract and say " I was wrong" is also important to self change.

Ranin,

I feel there is a difference between racism/prejudice/bias and stereotyping individuals/ behaviors. If someone has a prejudice in their mind, that is private and no one else may ever find out. However to comunicate those thoughts are another issue. What benefit to society or to the community occurs when such "helpful" advice is given?

Retrospect on what? A debate is a good way of learning from each other.
You are new here and obviously I have made you feel inferior/superior with my views. Lets not use a ego problem to block sense of perspective.

I'm sorry! With TK its a whole new ballgame. Periods of relative sanity are obiliterated by crazy assumptions.

Generalizations like that made by TK are of absolutely NO use to the community. It is harmful to the site as well by attracting that calibre of thought.

TK has been warned plenty of times by the mods but is obviously missing the capacity and ability to understand what is harmful. Letting such openly expressed prejudiced statements go unchallenged is not conducive to attracting the right kind of people to the site. Nor is it helping in giving a new immigrant a healthy perpective of canada or life.

BTW: I havent been following the site very closely but didnt BL limit TK's posts to one a day. Has the limit been lifted? I dont see much of BL around. GG is that your decision?

I just want to have firm understanding of the path we are headed on.
