Till date we have not found replacements for players like Gavaskar, Kapil or Bedi. That cannot be criterion for retaining them.
Players like he and Agarkar should not consider their places as permanent and dish out indifferent performances. Many times they give the impression that they are bored with the proceedings and get out to lazy shots or bowl casually. With so many youngsters fighting for a place in the team this is totally unacceptable.

Right on.

Let's see what Sachin will do in the next two matches. He is not expected to open tomorrow as Jaffer may open with Sehwag (as Dravid is no tplaying). If this is the case, then we know how scared Sachin is facing quality fast bowlers like Pollcok, Nel and Ntini.

Hope Agarkar is dropped. This will give Sreeshant a chance to prove his calibre.

Sometime back Sanjay Manjrekar said that Sachin is Scared of Failure ...

To an extent Sanjay is Right. I thought this was said to Provoke him. But even that did not work !!!

BCCI is worth INR 3000 Crores. If they can make this kind of money at the current level of performances what is the kind of moolah they can rake in if people perform to their potential.

I miss Sadam Hussains second son who was the president of Iraqs football federation. If the Iraq team came back a loser he used to personally supervise the caning of the team as punishment.

India as country produces good individual players (Vishwanathan Anand, Jeev Milkha Singh, Sharp shooters, Tennis players)and is poor at producing team sportsmen.

Speech by Thomas Friedman of The New York Times....

"When we were young kids growing up in America, we were told to eat our
vegetables at dinner and not leave them. Mothers said, 'think of the
starving children in India and finish the dinner.' And now I tell my
children: 'Finish your maths homework. Think of the children in India
who would make you starve, if you don't.'"

Munaf , age 23, ODI 14, Wkts 15
Agarkar, Age 29, ODI 173, Wkts 263
Irfan, age 22, ODI 70, Wkts 114
Sreesanth, age 24, ODI 20, Wkts 28

Now tell me the reason why Ajit Agarkar should go?

S .... you have found the answer.... i remeber the glorious days of Iraqi football. especially when they won two consective world cups .... now i know the real reason ..... hmmm guys Sharad would have to use the stick

Jeev Milkha Singh is ranked 47th in the world (of golf) ....... as an indian you are proud of someone who is 47th but not someone who is still , in his bad days , ranked in top 20 of the game .... go figure......

Yes its painful to see Sachin in Top 20 ... Sachin is Top 5 material - if not @ Top. He is playing way below his potential. if not 100 in every game - atleast he should not go in Shell. Its very Painful to see him struggling like this. Adn who knows, his one quick fire inning can set everyone on fire. Remember Ind-Pak in World Cup. Few opening Overs set the Tempo of the inning.
