Hi Heston,
Can you please repost your link in the 'Have fun' section. I'l be posting my own first 3 minute animated short film in that section soon.

I would like to keep this section for the traditional/cultural arts and also cultural history/literature. Sites like yours and mine may fit better into a media arts section if we do decide to have one. I'm a bit vary of diluting this section with new/contemporary media arts such as ours which already have ready audience and venues, to be show cased at. What do you think?

p.s: you do know that you will get more feedback at professional forums for video/movies. e.g: for animation there are sites where I as an animator can post to and professsionals in the field rip into it, tear it apart and I learn a lot in the process. You can also submit it to places like ifilm, pocketmovies, atomfilms etc.

I tried to d/l the music video...however I hear only the music and I could just see the opening credit. Which compression did you use there?

thanks for the advice,will check out the other sites, i do keep track of pocketmovies, atomfilms already, will try sending it there aswell. as for the codec, u can open it if u have a divx bundle with you.

i already have the 5.02 bundle. Having problems with it lately. So maybe the problem is at my end. I'll remove and reinstall.

I did a test on the stats I receive at my website. Between my mpg, qt and divx files. The # 1 downloads go to mpgs, followed by qt and then divx. This was when I had more than 1 gb of dowload traffic when I posted one of my animations to various industry related forums.

Also found that divx does a bad job with longer files (more than 2 minutes)...using virtualdub (freeware) to output to divx helped in that case.

Thought I'd share the info with you.

p.s: GG is looking into the feasability of putting a sub thread for people like us in the arts and culture section

I just downloaded the file to double check, seems to be working ok at my end. I will keep the details in mind that you mentioned for later use.
