There's a very thin line between risk and reckless. Enough said.

Duncan - You may not have been passed through the situations being foreign students. Its not only about desis..... I have seens students from other countries working for cash. And also its not only desis taking advantage of govt. benefits such as unemployment and welfare... There are ppl from Iran, Iraq, Afghan, Srilanka, Sudanis etc...etc...
Also the underground economy in Canada is about 15 % of its actual GDP, So does that mean all 15 % are only desis who work underground ?.... NOO
Jigz, as this site is desi, so I just talked bout desis in Canada but u r right in saying people from other countries also do illegal work. I also came to Canada on student visa and have seen the time when I go to the univ food bank cause my parents draft was either delayed or the bank is not giving it through.
But then also I had alway one thing in my mind, that 1 wrong move could make my life in hell, and that is y I still work under law and order.
I understand the situation of students, but the govt had done a great job in allowing students to work after 6 month of studies. I really appreciate this move, now its the duty of students to give a good responce and stop illegal work.
I beleive is a student can't afford to live for early 6 months, then for what he/she is coming to canada. To get the visa, every student needs to show financial background, now here if they can show lakhs of rs to visa officer, then y can't they spend some on themselves.
I have seen students spending much more then they have in bank on the things like gadgets, clubs, liquar....etc etc. They don't know anyone in Canada, and the first thing they do is to buy a mobile, but u tell me, do they require this thing????
No hard feelings for anyone.
thank you

Quote:I know there are so many students who have come to Canada with only one intention "Make money and go back home" They think they want to earn lot more money than the fees they have paid (for student visa) and then go backhome. Well.... I dont have any comments in that case.
