Hello,
I applied for immigration along with my wife at the CHC new delhi, through an immigration firm in nov 2003. Though my process of talking to the consultants and decision to apply was made in early 2003 itself, there was a delay in applying as I had to wait for completion of 4 years of work experience to get 75 points.
But by coincidence, when I got the required work exp, the points for passing were reduced to 67. The firm told me submit all papers together. So I submitted the application forms, PCC, proof of funds, IELTS score all in one shot.
Now my questions are
1. The firm told me that this is a new procedure at CHC New Delhi, asking for all papers in one shot, so that the processing time is reduced. Is this true ?
2. As I've submitted all papers together, what is the approximate time for getting a notification from CHC New Delhi for Interview Waiver/Medicals ?
3. Is there any time frame for Medical Exams, I mean when the CHC asks us to do the medicals and submit the papers, do they mention any deadline before which the medical papers have to be submitted ?
4. What will happen if I do not submit the medical papers within the deadline given. Do I need to forego the visa fees and apply once again ?
Your answers will be of great use to me to plan further.
Thanks in advance,
smm.

CHACK THE ANSWERS IN CAPS.
Hello,
I applied for immigration along with my wife at the CHC new delhi, through an immigration firm in nov 2003.
YES THIS WAY THEY WILL NOT HAVE TO ASK FOR THIS AND THAT AGAIN AND AGAIN. IT IS GOOD THAT YOU HAVE PROVIDED ALL THE INFORMATION IN ONE GO.
2. As I've submitted all papers together, what is the approximate time for getting a notification from CHC New Delhi for Interview Waiver/Medicals ?
AT PRESENT ON AN AVERAGEM CHC, NEW DELHI IS TAKING 36 TO 48 MONTHS FOR PROCESSING OF CASES. INFACT IN SOME INSTANCES, THEY HAVE TAKEN AND ARE TAKING EVEN MORE TIME. BUT THINGS ARE LIKELY TO IMPROVE IN FUTURE. NOTHING CONCRETE CAN BE SAID AT THIS STAGE. JUST WAIT AND WATCH.
3. Is there any time frame for Medical Exams, I mean when the CHC asks us to do the medicals and submit the papers, do they mention any deadline before which the medical papers have to be submitted ?
CHC WILL ISSUE MEDICAL PAPERS AFTER YOUR INTERVIEW / WAIVER. YOU AND YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS WILL HAVE TO VISIT A DOCTOR OF THE CHOICE OF CHC ALONG WITH THE MEDICAL PAPERS ISSUED BY THE CHC. ALL OF YOU WILL HAVE TO CARRY YOUR PASSPORTS. HOWEVER, THERE ARE INSTANCES WHERE CHC HAS CALLED PEOPLE FOR INTERVIEW EVEN AFTER THEIR MEDICALS.
GENERALLY CHC GIVES 90 DAYS TIME TO THE APPICANT TO SUBMIT HIS MEDICAL. GENERALLY THE VALIDITY OF VISA DEPENDS ON THE DATE OF MEDICAL EXAMINATION. FOR EXAMPLE SUPPOSE, YOU APPEAR FOR YOUR MEDICAL EXAMINATION ON SAY 31ST DECEMBER 2004, THEN YOU WOULD GET VISA PAPERS HAVING VALIDITY TILL 30TH DECEMBER 2005.
IF YOU HAVE ANY PROBLEM IN APPEARING FOR MEDICAL EXAM WITHIN THE TIME FRAME PROVIDED BY CHC, YOU CAN ALWAYS ASK THEM TO EXTEND THE TIME FRAME BY WRITING A LETTER TO THEM. THEY DO CO-OPERATE.
4. What will happen if I do not submit the medical papers within the deadline given. Do I need to forego the visa fees and apply once again ?
BUT IF YOU FAIL TO APPEAR FOR MEDICALS COMPLETELY WITHOUT PROPER INFORMATION, THEY WOULD CLOSE YOUR CASE. YOU WILL LOOSE THE VISA PROCESSING FEE. RIGHT OF LANDING FEE, IF PAID, WILL BE REFUNDED TO YOU.
ALL THE BEST
Your answers will be of great use to me to plan further.
Thanks in advance,
smm.

There is no pleasure in having nothing to do; The fun is in having lots to do and not doing it.
Thank you very much for your replies Indian. It was very helpful.
One last question, by \"Family members\" (for medicals) do you mean only those covered in the application (in my case it is me and my wife) or all members of my family. This may be a silly question, but just for more clarity I'm asking this.
Thanks
smm.
Family members means You, your wife and your children only. all others are not considered as family members. Medical test will be carried out for only your wife and yourself assuming you do not have children.
