I am planning to buy a house. Presently i am staying in 2 bed room nice Basement in Mississauga.
Somebody just suggested me to apply for the subsidy to GOVT and they 'll help you out in searching for the right appartment or townhouse (better than basement offcourse ) and so need not to plan investing for the house.
As you just have to pay alomst half the price as rent (subsidised price ) and therefore youmcan save your money for another year or so.
Is this the right advice and if it is so than can you see any de-merits in this prosposal.
Pls suggest (benifit wise) which offer is ideal one ..
Thanks

Hi DF
Subsidized housing is generally for families that have low income. Generally income level is considered when you apply.
Another thing to note is that there can be waiting lists for subsidized housing. These can be for upto 2 years depending on the location and availability.
If you feel you are in a financial need, contact your provincial ministry of housing and income.
