I have applied for my mom's PR who is Indian citizen but has Dubai Residency as a parent to my brother who is employed in Dubai.
Her Residency Visa states that she has to stay 6 months out of 1 year in Dubai to maintain the same.
If she stays with me for more than 1 year in Canada, does she lose her Dubai Residency status ?If so, does that affect her PR process for Canada ?
Your help and experience appreciated.
Thanks,
Sangeeta
yes she will lose her UAE residency status if she stays out of UAE for more than six months in one stretch. your brother (sponser) can apply to the immigration department for an exemption. the lose of uae residency status has nothing to do with her Canada PR process.
your brother can sponser her again at any time. it will take only a day or two and few hundred dirhams to get her another resident visa
Hi Sangeeta
I am exactly in the same boat as you are. My mother is with my brother in Dubai on a residency visa and I have applied for a sponsorship for my mother in Canada. I am planning to bring her to Canada for abt a year and my brother told me that she will lose her residence status in Dubai. As "skeptical" said, it has nothing to do with the Canadian sponsorship and will not have any impact on it, but I would be more interested in knowing more abt this exemption skeptical talked abt.
Skeptical
Would you be able to give more details abt this exemption you talked abt.
Cheers

Also, what happens to PR application if she lose her Dubai residence ? Will the application then move to CHC Delhi ?
Please - any help appreciated.
