Parents took daughter to India for typhoid help

A Mississauga girl was forced to travel to India to be diagnosed and treated for typhoid after her parents say Canadian health authorities failed to identify the disease, The Toronto Sun is reporting.
As early as December 7, 4-year-old Sainsha Lalls had complained of feeling unwell. Her parents, Charu and Sanjeev, told The Sun they took their daughter to her pediatrician as well as health care workers at Credit Valley Hospital, the Trillium Health Centre and The Hospital For Sick Children.
The family say they were repeatedly told to take their daughter home, despite their concerns. However, the family said she had been running a fever as high as 104C for the better part of a month.
On Christmas Eve, the family boarded a flight to New Delhi where Sainsha was diagnosed and treated for the disease.
The youngster's parents are frustrated that, despite their urgings to test their daughter for typhoid, they were allegedly rebuffed by Canadian doctors and nurses.
"Even at Trillium I requested the doctor to do a typhoid test and he retorted 'We do not do these fancy tests here,'" Charu told The Sun.
Officials with Sick Kids Hospital told The Sun that serious diseases are often hidden behind familiar and less-serious looking symptoms. They said finding the reason for a lasting fever is often a complicated process that involves several tests.
The family said they spent about $7,000 to get Sainsha treated in India.
Last year, there were 26 reported cases of typhoid in Peel Region.

canadaian doctors are doing only that is wrritten in the govt guideline.
doctor has to see the all the aspect of the patient and possibility, he cann't only stick to the guideline. bcos in medical all case are diff so you cann't see all case by same way as every.
Immigrants are increasing to this country but the medical systme is not updating with adding their coutry common medical problem in canada's health systme.
doctor are only looking for the disease which are common in canada not looking for the disease which could possible in that patient bcos of his race , country etc....
in develop country the medical systme is not giving prefrance to the ORPHAN disease bcos there is not too much profit in that so they miss to diagnose that disease .
they only diagnose disease like DM, BP, etc....which are most profitable.
