I was listening in to a conference call with Ajay and Gandhi of Birla Mutual Funds and they think India is still poised for stupendous growth and with the advent of the granddaddy IPO of DLF the real estate compnonent of the BSE, which is negligible right now, will just explode!More IPOs of other real estate companies will follow propelling the BSE to formidable new heights.
Though they caution there might be heavy volatility in the years ahead, the long time graph is straight up.
The P/E ratio of the BSE is high now though at 20 plus.
SBI is also coming out with a heavy offering (USD 3 bil) soon. That will add to the continuing growth.
Tons of factors that will add to a healthy upward trend in all sectors.
My property in Pune bought in 2001 has more than doubled, but my investments in the stock markets have more than quintupled. In the last 5 years the appreciation in the stock market have outstripped that in the real estate market.
Investments in Canada have also gone up substantially. Everything is cool all the way around!Yeah man, cloud no. 9.
