Hello!
I'd like to check with the esteemed members of this site and for sure the experts to help me with my current situation. I'm a US Green Card holder, been living in the US for a little over 7 years. I married after getting my GC and now I find myself in the soup - How to bring my wife to join me either here in America or across the border in Canada? I'd like to hear all the options one has to overcome the problem.
Thanks in advance....
PS: A few of my friends suggested that I check the possibility of me moving to Canada and sponsoring her to join me there. Is that an option? If yes, how do I go about it? Also, let me know if it's easy for my wife to get a Canadian visitor visa? Please provide the necessary details.
Well well well the green back is not so green after all...
If u apply for Canada GC ur US GC will be invalid.
U can apply for work permit in Canada and bring ur wife over, in canada even dependants can work on primary holders work permit.
Other than that ur options are bleak mostly restricted to getting a Vistor/Student visa for ur wife without disclosing she has been married to u..

Dude,
Thanks for the information. I was wondering if you could get me more specific information about me getting a work permit and then sponsoring my wife as a dependent (answering a few questions like 1. Can I apply for a work permit myself or do I need somebody to sponsor? 2. If somebody needs to sponsor, how do I go about it? 3. How long does it take? 4. What are the paper work involved? 5. What are the expenses? I sure hope it's reasonable). I'd also appreciate it if you could please provide more information for my wife getting a visitor's visa (the same questions as earlier).
Thanks in advance...
