my experience with health care in Canada hasn't been the best yet. Almost each year since I cam to Canada got flu/or bacterial infection 1-2 times. Each time antibiotics. Around 3 years back had fever 106 deg., entered the clinic, doctor looks at me, asks me am i allergic to penicillin. I say no, and writes the prescription. Didn't even ask me how I was feeling, what the temp. was, absolutely nothing.
Then around the same time I got some throat problems. In 2 mths went through 2 different courses of antibiotics. Still didn't get cured. after the 3rd mth of coughing my head, lungs, tonsils off started homeopathy. Since then haven't had any problems.
Exercise.....Good diet...take 8 glass of water...think positive..be happy...No stress..take time to enjoy.
5 thumb rule. If your body have less energey ..bcoz of worry, less fluid, bad diet (becoz of less time).. no exercise becz of winter/cold.. any bectrial infection you can have.
If you are healthy enough in your office at home whatever virus infection .. if you are healthy,it will protect you.
Still .. we dont leave in perfect world.. so any thing can happen.. try any homebased medicine.. like for fever.. put water cloth ..n give medicine ..and try to reduce it.. give lots of love to your child.. and shows so much care..that increase antibody.. give child enought time.. dont run behind $$$$....
& we leave in north pole..so the way we have to take care of our health in india..from somuch hot weather..we hve to feight against winter...different way! dont still eat .. indian diet..adopt bran..high fiber, green vegetable diet...canada have extrem cold and weather..so the way we educate ourself to make money ...educate .. for different climate.
cold weather can create very easily stress..so reduce stress by taking enough time off..enjoy. think positive..
and then still go something wrong.. again not perfect world. try to come out with enough rest, get help from your spouse ..care..love ...take off from work.. natural medicine.. everything together...

It is natuaral for the parent to be worried.
After our arrival after 3 week visit in December from Delhi, my 2 and a half year old son had to be taken to CVH due to 105F temp in the middle of the night. Yes, we had to wait a long time there and we did feel frustrated. However in the end we did realize and are thankful to the doctors and nurses there. We spent 9 hours in the emergency and the doctore did every test possible to rule out any reason that could have caused this hight fever. He was tested for Typhoid, Urinary tract infection, Malaria, Pneumonia and Chest congestion etc. While we were at the hospital, he was administered Tylenol twice and kept on liquid diet of water and juice only.
In the end he was released to go home and the temperature perhaps stressed us only once. He wasn't prescribed any medecine and I absolutely agree with the doctor now that he didn't need one.
All I would say to you is, just do whatever your doctor says.
