Here's another link...
Hi ,
I am in process of finding possible countries down south which I can visit without vister visa .I am still waiting for Canadian citizenship and my current US visa already been expired so I guess I need to select flight with no stopover in US cities.
As a Canadian PR can I visit following countries without visitor visa:
Jamaica
Barbados
I also found out that for Bermuda Canadian PR doesn't need visa:
>>>>>
Passport Note
Before entering Bermuda, it is essential to be in possession of either a return or onward ticket to a country to which one has a legal right of entry. Anyone arriving in Bermuda and intending to return to their own country via another one which requires a visa must obtain such a visa before arrival in Bermuda. Visitors are advised to check details with the British Overseas Territories visa section (see Contact Addresses).
(a) Visa-controlled nationals who have the right to reside in the United States (Permanent Resident), Canada (Permanent Resident) or the United Kingdom (no limit on stay in the United Kingdom), and are in possession of proof of such status and a valid passport, do not require Bermuda entry visas.
(b) Transit passengers from countries mentioned above must continue to a third country within five hours by the same aircraft, hold confirmed onward tickets and documentation and not leave the airport.

If I have to choose between Jamaica (in case I don't need any entry visa) or Bermuda which one you guys advice.I'll be travelling with my wife and 8 year old son.

Ani70, you need a visa to visit Jamaica and Barbados. From my personal and friends experience I'll suggest don't go to Jamaica, it’s not a safe country for visitors especially tourist with families. Barbados is good and safe...though expensive but on vacation it does not matter. We live in Caribbean and know these islands very well, Trinidad and Tobago is another unsafe destination (Tobago is safe though but not Trinidad). Visit Curacao, Aruba especially Aruba...it's very good. You need visa for all of these islands.
Hope it helps.....................Jona
Can anyone tell me, in terms of costs how US Virgin Islands is compared to Barbados / Tobago / Aruba?
Is it a safe place to visit?
You don't need a visa to travel through(no stop over) UK if you hold a PR card of canada

Brown Bear,
Cost wise all islands are same be it, Virgin Islands, T&T, Aruba etc... These places are tourist places; if you want bargains then travel in a non season time when hotels/air fares are cheap. We visited Tobago in mid Jan last year (after the mad rush of new year was over and got very good bargains...try Hotwire.com, they won't tell you the name of the hotel...you have to pay first...but at the price for over $80+ taxes they placed us in Hilton Tobago, the normal price is above $195 or so).
If you are flying from US, the immigration for Aruba is not needed...I mean the flight from US to Aruba is considered domestic and not international (may be with restrictions for Non US residents...please check before boarding). We haven't visited US Virgin Islands so can't say it is safe or not...may be other members can help in this.
Jona

In most cases, it will depend on what passport you are planning to use for travel.
As a Canadian PR you can visit Switzerland with out visa.
All other major European countries not giving any preferene to Canadian Permanent residence, visa required to enter.
