Thanks so much for your reply. I am in IT and looking for job since a 10 months. Have Lots of certifications and good experience.

Some of the questions suggested by 7Wonders are very true and a great deal of motivation for me at this time. Thanks big brother!

I have met the Employment councillor and she suggested me to be just patient and keep on applying.

Everyday just goes, recruiters call and they just submit my resume, nothing goes forward.

For One job

I went 4 rounds of technical Interview over a period of 2 months

Then HR interview,then reference checks.

Everything went right but they have not repsonded me back since a month.

Its taking lots of time,Specially with family and kids it becomes difficult.

Please suggest, where can I find some temp work.

This is disheartening. Tomorrow, any one of us could go through a similar phase. Anyways, I have a few questions. My team at CGI is currently hiring. That said:

1. Are you a permanent resident?
2. Do you have any or all of these skills? .NET, SQL Server, BEA Weblogic 7.0 or greater, Java

If yes, send me your resume. My address is: mynameisraj (at) gmail (dot) com

I can do my part. I can forward your resume to my manager and put in a word. Rest isn't upto me...

Good luck in all your endeavours.

Regards.

Recruiting in Canada, normally, is at snail pace. So don't worry, if you have reached the reference check, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Also, in desperation, don't forward your resume to every Tom, Dick and Harry.

Best of luck.

since you are new to this country, and if you have three years of experience in your field in your own country, you can try coop program run by peel and Dufferin school board.
its a 5 months program (2 months in class training and 3 months coop in a company of your choice)

I think its a good ways to start, even through 2 months in class training feels like waste of time, but better then keep searching job for 7 months and still lack in Canadian experience.

My experience - I am also really frustrated with job search and I know people say have patience, but it does not work. Applied to all positions advertised, newspaper, workopolis, monster, agencies, direct, cold calling, nothing works. I dont know what they want. have 12 yrs of experience but still no call.

Greetings again
I dont agree with jhanvi..maybe because our expereinces differ, which is the best teacher.
I believe that networking is of prime importance and having your resume sent to others who may be in a situation to be of help is well worth it.

Also aashu I agree that it is easier said than done with the "have patience" thingy but you if you are doing all that you possibly can (as I can see you have been) then you will get the result.

So shoot me your resume too if you wish. My email id is username at hotmail

All the best to all

well I wouldnt totally disagree with jhanvi as well ....
because if your resume ends up on the same managers table through different agencies then rest assured that you will not be hired by this manager ( It becomes a legal issue ) ....

so you need to be diligent enough to not send your resume to the same company through different agencies .....

sending directly through people like on CD shouldnt be a concern if somebody is an employee of a company ...

Cheers ...
