Hi
Thanks for all the info. I am yet to decide with the make of the car. I am a bit confused as to whether I should buy a Accent/Elantra (taking into consideration the price, promotion, etc. as given by Hyundai dealers) or a Toyota Corolla/Yaris.
When talking to a Toyota dealer, he flatly told me that comparing a Toyota to a Hyundai is like comparing apples with oranges. He stated that Korean cars are not that good, that's why they come up with all kind of gimmicks to sell their cars.
In a new car (Toyota/Hyundai), what would be the normal repair/maintainence cost, and is it covered within the warranty?
Any fine prints that I should be aware of before buying a new car?
Thanks again

Any CD who is driving a Yaris, can you please share the feedback.
I am yet to decide between a yaris/corolla and Hyundai Accent, so looking for genuine feedback regarding these cars.
Also, is the website carcostcanada good for buying a new car? Is spending $40 worth it?
Thanks

If you think you want to resell the car down the line, then it might be better to go with Corolla. Hyundai depreciates quickly in value. Check the prices of used cars in autotrader.ca, etc.

Hyundai is no longer a "cheap quality" car. It has been recognised lately to be of quality that of Toyota. It also has the best 5 year comprehensive or 100000km warranty. If you keep the car for 5 years, the amount of money you would lose would make up for amount of money you may have spent on maintaining your Toy. And if you sell after 3 years, the remaining warranty of 2 years could be a good selling point for Hyundai.
All cars depreciate once they leave showroom and I am sure you are not buying it just for a couple of years, in which case I would recommend to by a used recent model car from Toyota. Considering so much hype about green house gaes and rebates/penalties etc, in few years who knows how much either car would resell.
So my advice would be to go for the best car that you can afford....a car that does not pinch you while you drive. Don't pay much attention to resale value.
Good luck with your decision and will appreciate if you share it.
