Please watch this slideshow and decide yourself. Yes India is a poor country and Chennai has lots of slums and poor people.
But we can make people walk who have been given up by Doctors with Canadian Education and Experience.
The proof of the pudding is in eating it . Look at Nancy's weight loss (55 Lbs)!.
My friend's son fell down and broke his hand. The Doctors here told him that his son needed Major Surgery. He bought a ticket for his son and sent him to India where in the local doctors did massage and simple relocation of the bones and put a bandage over it. His son was in India for a month and now is back in Brampton playing Basket Ball as usual. The expense the cost of airticket and a couple of thousand dollars for the Doctors. Here he would paid through his nose for the medicines as he does not have Insurance.
So much so for the Canadian Experience, while so many good doctors are driving taxi's. Everytime I take a taxi, I treat the driver with outmost respect may be he is a PhD, Doctor or even an ex-Professor.
The IT guys are making India proud, followed by the BPO's, later by manufacturing(the first BMW has been rolled out of Chennai facility) and now the Indian Doctors are making us proud.(Indian Cricket Team is exempt from this adulation!.)
May be your next surgery or a dental appointment will be in Chennai, India.

Speech by Thomas Friedman of The New York Times....
"When we were young kids growing up in America, we were told to eat our
vegetables at dinner and not leave them. Mothers said, 'think of the
starving children in India and finish the dinner.' And now I tell my
children: 'Finish your maths homework. Think of the children in India
who would make you starve, if you don't.'"

How about treating a driver with respect because he is a human being?
Teach your children the value of hard work and pride in themselves rather than kissing up to those that may have prestige, power or money.
The world needs more people like that.

Note that lot of British citizens who need quick heart surgery come to India. As there is a wait time in the NHS, its cheapr to come to India, say to Bangalore, get it done, take rest and go back. Hospitals like Narayana Hridayala in Blore are doing good business.
Agreed, its expensive for poor in India to get good treatment in private hospitals. But those who are covered, can get a quick MRI or CT Scan thru a walk in. How many can get a walk in MRI in Canada?
