They will be surprised if they go settle in Metros and decide to educate their kids, specially daughters, in good city schools. We just came from Delhi and from my experience lifestyle of kids in schools/colleges these days is no different from what you have here.
A lot depends on what values you give your kids, how much time you spend with them and what direction you show them by being "live" examples. A place cannot have as much impact on kids as quality of family life.
