The grass is always greener on the other side or which side of the pan is hot ?.

On one hand I'm finding plenty of Desis selling their properties in India and rushing to invest their monies here in GTA while on the other hand some of the Canadian Desis wanting to invest back in India !.

> \\\"We're looking at it from a purely investment perspective,\\\" says Raj Sunder, 52, adding the couple has up to $200,000 to invest. \\\"Investing in North American property is not that lucrative. We've been hearing a lot of good things about India and think that will generate a better rate of return. We prefer a property in Chennai, where we are from, but we are open.\\\"

> \\\"The biggest challenge will be to change the mindset about India. People who left the country 15, 20, 30 years ago still feel it is the same in terms of corruption, bribery. But things are totally changing. It's much more transparent now, so property is a very safe investment.\\\"

> \\\"Trust is a big issue,\\\" Dua, 47, says. \\\"We know lots of horror stories in India where people lost money because they got fake papers and didn't actually own the property they bought.\\\"

> Dr. Anil Sharma, 50, who owns an X-ray lab in Mississauga, was shopping for a retirement home.

\\\"Rather than retiring here and shovelling snow,\\\" he said, \\\"I'd rather go there and have one or two servants and pay for health care as and when I need it, instead of waiting on a long list.\\\" :

:) By any chance is he also another avatar of TK & me ?.:)

Speech by Thomas Friedman of The New York Times....

"When we were young kids growing up in America, we were told to eat our
vegetables at dinner and not leave them. Mothers said, 'think of the
starving children in India and finish the dinner.' And now I tell my
children: 'Finish your maths homework. Think of the children in India
who would make you starve, if you don't.'"
