I understand that there are many threads on settlement funds in CD but I couldn't find a precise answer to my question .
I would be carrying CAD $ 2000 in cash and CAD $ 8000 in the form travellers cheques as proof of funds plus I would like to carry around Eur 200 with me so that I could have my food at Frankfurt airport (stoppage
) which means I would be left with around Eur 150 besides my CAD $ 10,000 by the time I reach Toronto airport .
Could someone please advise if this much foreign currency can be carried along with the settlement funds .If yes, then do I need to tell the immigration authroities about it .
Will I have to pay any fine on this surplus foreign currency ?

Yes, can be carried.
Yes, CAD 10,000 and over should be declared.
There is no fine.
Note: These are best to what I know but I cannot imagine being fined for carrying 150 euros in Canada.
