Thanks Garvo.
I was thinking if we can have like these facilities listed on home page so that anybody whether member or not, may notice and take advantage of the same.
Thanks
That is really Great. It will definitely serve our objective.
Hi Sanjiv! I must say people like you are making this site very useful for new immigrants.
I landed in Toronto last month and was there for two weeks. I have got my PR & SIN Card. I came to Canada to complete immigration formalities and to explore the possibility of a Job.
I feel that while I search for a job in Canada through internet, I should continue with the exsiting job in India. This may mean staying out of Canada for a few months or may be for 1-2 years. Do I have to pay income tax in Canada (I have to pay taxes in India anyway)?
No you do not have to file income tax returns. Once you are resident of canada, then only you are liable to file.
You took the PR Card but you returned to India and never came back to Canada. Now your status is non resident. You do not have any property or attachment to Canada through employment, source of income or property. So not liable for tax in canada
Thanks for the info Sanjiv. But when I return to Canada after some time (next year) I'll claim to be a resident based on this PR card. In that case will I be questioned why I didn't file my I-Tax return?
