Hi,
First of all thanks a lot for reading my post.
My fiancee and I are going to South Asia this august to get married.
She is a canadian citizen and I am on work permit at the moment and
both residing in Canada. For the wedding she will get a significant
amount of gold as gifts which we intend to bring back with us. I read
some article on the CBSA Site.

"Wedding gifts
If you get married within three months before coming to Canada or if
you plan to marry no later than three months after arriving in this
country, you can bring in your wedding gifts free of duties.
However, you must have owned and possessed them before you arrived in
Canada. In this instance, the \"use\" requirement for the goods does not
apply. These same conditions apply to household goods you bring in as
part of a bride's trousseau.\"
Unfortunately the above only applies to People residing outside for atleast a year.
Is there any rule for people who is just going to get married?
Is there any necessity to take pictures of her wearing them during the wedding as proof they are wedding gifts? Should we try to get receipts for them?
Thanks a lot for reading and any input is highly appreciated.
No one has any experience or advice on this?
