By the way - what would be the difference if one got his parents into Canada in such times on a tourist visa instead of visitor visa??

Mumbai Maazi Ladki ...
I think they do.....since I have got my sisters/brothers and in laws regularly for a visit and I NEVER had to even send an invitation letter. In fact, 10 days from now one of my sisters and BIL and one of my wife's sister and my co-brother are arriving here and I did not have to give any letter for them too.

Well they are here now and there visa is valid for only 3 months. At the airport, no new date was put in the passport.
What we plan to do is try to extend their stay as much as possible. As well as apply for PR.
I'm thinking of extending there visa for the reason, that we need my mother-in-laws help with the small children that we have. Anyone have experience with this reason for extention? How long can we extend for.
My mother-in-law is 70 years old and my father-in-law is 59. Can my father-in-law get a temporay work permit? Please advice.
thanks you
