Hi test fright,
The route for the G2 is :
Exit the drive test centre,
Turn right (lots of construction work around so be careful)
First left at the traffic lights
Left turn at the stop sign (you can change lanes at the broken yellow line)
Parallel parking, uphill/downill parking in the inside roads
Speed limit seemed to be 50 throughout the inside roads.
Left turn on Ford drive (don't cut the oddly placed white line in the centre of the road)
Left turn at cornwall
Immediately after the left turn is the railway crossing ... remember to slow down and look in both directions.
You might have to change lanes at once due to the construction.
Drive to the drive test centre. Road speed is 60 but traffic is slow due to the construction.

I have had good and bad experiences at the Oakville centre. My last one (last week) was very positive. I had this wonderful young girl as my drive test examiner and she was very polite and calm the entire time.

Hope you pass,

I failed last week in Burlington :(, all went well but messed up parallel parking as I got nervous.
Now I want to reappear without my instructor so that if i fail again I don't lose all that money again.

Anyone remembers the route in Oakville? any other tips related to this center is much appreciated.
thanks!!

Thank you so much fass2008. This def. is a big help!!
Have you failed once at oakville before last week?

My test is on the 9th, and I have changed my mind about giving it in my own car, instead I am going again with the instructor.

Thanks once again!

I have failed twice at Oakville and passed twice :)
I gave my G2 a few years ago and failed in Oakville and Guelph and then passed in my third attempt at Oakville
I gave my G in Oakville just last month and failed. As my lisence was about to expire I couldnt take a chance with failing again and so redid my G2 in Oakville and passed. I too did not take the chance and appointed another driving instructor (just to teach me parrallel parking and reverse parking :)). AND I still have to pass my G. so I expect visiting Oakville a few more times :)

Driving is unavoidable in this country (especially in the suburbs) and getting the lisence is just something you HAVE to accomplish, however stressful and expensive the process...

wow! you must be an expert of G2 by now :), just kidding - I can imagine how stressful and frustrating this entire experience must be.
I was quite confidant the first time I apreared, as according to my instructor, I was one of his best student! - and during practices my parallel parking was great but I did not do it well on the test date although the examiner gave me 3 chances to fix it :p, but I had never practiced "fixing" a messed up parking :).
this time round I am quite nervous.

I think I would go to the test area on a weekend to ger familliar with the route you've sent - is it appropriate to practice in that area during the week? I somehow feel it might not be, as many people there must be in the middle of their tests.

one more question, did you find your 2nd instructor better than the first? and did they charge $100?

Its okay, but your instructor may not come with you as they could get fined.

I have had multiple instructors. My second one was not neccesarily better than the first and yes he charged me $130 (car + class before test). Such a waste of money :( but I guess it had to be..
