Honestly, I have no idea what you say or don't say.
I don't think I would like to strain my eyes any more to decipher and decode your posts :p

I was watching Breakfast TV this morning before leaving for work and they were talking about including tofu as part of your diet to lose weight. I have never cooked with tofu, but I would give it a try - anyone know any good recipes with tofu?

Also, although Transmogrifier is a little hard to decipher, I do understand what he says about eating everything, but reducing portion sizes. (I hope that is what he was saying - if not, I apologise for assuming) That is what I am going to try as of now...it's something I heard about what they do on the Weight Watchers diet plan...eat everything, but reduce your portion size to about half of what you would normally eat and eat 5 meals a day instead of the "normal" 3 meals.

I also asked a friend of mine who is a nutritionist and she says to avoid white bread/flours/pasta as much as possible and have the whole wheat breads/pasta etc instead. This way you're not depriving yourself of carbs, but are at least choosing a healthier option of them.

Thanks Charlie,

That sounds delish! I'll try it out - going grocery shopping tonight so will pick some tofu up.

On another note...I have recently changed from 2% milk to 1% and have to tell everyone out there that it tastes exactly the same. Small steps...but every little helps!

Why not good ol' Indian style paneer?
Home-made is even better !
Tofu is made with a highly industrialised process, where they first extract milk from soy and then chemically culture it.
Soy milk doesn't have any enzymes to support a real, bacterial culture.

Yeah, 1% doesn't make any difference in taste, and IMHO, not much difference in health either :(

I had enrolled in a diet study and I also got the same message from one of the leading doctors in Toronto.
1) Watch carb intsake
2) Watch food intake in general i.e. reduce portion sizes.
3) They taught us what are the portion sizes. It is very important to know what the portion sizes are.

I cannot believe that over the period me and my husband have reduced food intake like crazy. Sometimes, we discuss how we were eating so many rotis and were still not full and how the same amount of rotis would make us sick now. We eat everything including sweets but watch our portion sizes. We also eat 3 meals and snacks in stead of 3 heavy meals.

Good point, paneer is great too, but isn't paneer supposed to be more fattening?
