I came to know that my niece has white patches on her skin. I feel terrible. I started looking out for a groom for her. My cousin now reveals the truth. She is coming to US to study this fall. She’s abt 25 yrs. I need to find out if it’s a communicable disease. Any links to get more info?

There's no substitute to a visit to the doctor...and a dermatologist. Good luck and I hope it isn't anything serious.
Sometimes they appear because of iron deficiency too. Only a good doctor can explain the real cause. Get her checked ASAP.

Thx folks. I had a long chat with my cousin early this morning. Now she is revealing that its been there for quite some time, doctors have seen it, tried other types of treatments (ayurvedic, homeopathic). Add to that my BIL is a doctor. Owns a small clinic in Bangalore. Looks to me that they have done their part.
I am thinking to take a step back in looking out for a groom. I am not comfortable on this issue any more. In the sense, I dont want to get in the middle of this. I think let my niece complete her study in US, get a job, etc. I also suggested to my cousin that the truth need to be told upfront rather than after marriage. She tends to agree, may be she was playing it to me.
